Tried a Blu-ray mfg same as my 1080p plasma. Slow to be ready and loads slowly. Very slow and choppy, but wanted to go forward or backward. Oppo unit solved all these problems with the 5 stars.
In addition, the process was my Blu-ray, a remote control very poor - as bad as what came with the TV … many small buttons. Was cumbersome to switch the input and return. Not all work TV functions, even if it claims otherwise. Remote control is Oppo few keys in order to perform the tasks that are easy to perform. Plus, it has many other useful functions. Is not the case, turn off the TV or inmputs change. This is a "do not want" a "must have".
I was surprised that the DVD is not better on the Oppo as my 2 years, Sony has played. I think the picture and sound in Germany were a bit 'better than my tester.
The price is high, but with a value equal to 2.5 times the average selling price of Blu-ray player that I tried. The Oppo is a real jewel. I hope that the Oppo firmware and product support to meet the very high level I expect.
